Swing ‘n’ Samba, one of Baltimore’s most popular bands of street entertainers, brings the busk inside on Friday, December 9, 2016, 8 p.m. for their first concert at Mt. Vernon’s Escape Artists Gallery.

15156843_1692781544368115_4633603471192325298_oBob Jacobson (sax & clarinet) and Michael Spittel (guitar) play not only swing and samba but blues, jazz waltzes, ballads and more. In addition to street entertaining – most frequently at the Waverly Farmers Market – they have played concerts at Emmanuel Church, Mt. Vernon Park, Charles Center Plaza and An die Musik; Baltimore Fringe Theater Festival and Abell Avenue Festival; art shows (Hamilton Gallery, Springhill Suites Hotel); benefits; senior citizen communities and private parties. Michael is in his sixth year of playing weekly solo guitar at Gertrude’s at the BMA. Bob led a trio for eight years at Donna’s Café.

Swing ‘n’ Samba will play two sets. Light refreshments will be served during intermission. Suggested donations are $5 for students, $8 for Baltimore Jazz Alliance members and $10 general.
